Dance Dance Revolution!

Dearest Blogtrotters,

Here are the photos from their dance recital in late May, I just realized that I had neglected to allow you the joy of them.  The recital itself went off without a hitch.  They didn't cry and even danced a little.  I'll put the link to David Morris' YouTube video post.  Let me impart my favorite aspect of the recital.  Perhaps it was the 4-5 year olds who danced to "All the Single Ladies"  nothing more approriate than twelve 5 year old girls dancing to "If you liked it, then you should have put a ring on it"  while wearing flapper dresses.  Although it was the lady chipmunks singing so that makes it ok (and annoying, since, admittedly  Mr. West was correct in his assessment of that song).  Our lady girls danced to an elongated version of the theme song to Scooby Doo.  Yeah, you heard me.

James and Abby: The Awesome Show!

Please to enjoy our awesomeness!  This is Abby standing in front of her newly fixed window!  She took it apart, replaced the motor and put every single part back where it started in less than 2 hours and she did it... all by herself! (I helped a little and obviously Ellie was helping, too).  And then the video is some cool science.  Apparently it is the oils in our skin that pop bubbles, so put a glove on and bounce to that!  peace friends.

Say Hey Blogtrotters,

 So sorry it has been a while, but I'm sure you're going to love this one!  Hair cut day!  Abby's secret plan was to have the girls get hair cuts of different lengths, thus making everyone's job a little easier.  Both ladies thought this idea was awful, luckily Elinor threw a fit and refused to get a hair cut so Abby's plan comes to fruition.  So forget pink and yellow, pigtails or plain,  and look to the hair.

In the next few shots Tilly and Ellie are taking turns (they are the best turn takers of any 3-4 year-olds we know!) jumping off the couch.  Stop, don't worry Theresa and Diana (and any other mothers reading this) there were wearing their "safety helmets".  Take that danger!  Finally we come to what the girls title "Cool Guy Poses", really you have the 2 examples of the only times they WANT their pictures taken:  1) when they are doing something dangerous and 2) Cool Guy Poses.

Sometimes Abby and I talk about what will happen if they both inherit all of our bad qualities.   

Smoke Rings

Say Hey Blogtrotters,

Here's me shooting smoke rings from my super deluxe air cannon. The smoke balls only last for about 30 seconds so I need to invest in some that cost more than the shipping. Anyway, enjoy and be amazed my my awesomeness! Oh, and please see the post from yesterday for pictures of the girls.

Lil' Sebastian

Ahoy, Ahoy, Blogtrotters,

The lil' family went to Dallas Heritage Park today. It's your basic ol'timey pioneer village in the downtown area of major metropolitan city. It was extremely boring. "It's the least amount of fun anyone can have that doesn't involve baseball!" Said Abby Morris. Well, the girls just loved it. We spent about 4 hours there and they almost cried when we had to leave (because it had closed 20 minutes earlier). Abby promised them that we could come back for storytime (which includes singing, a craft and a pioneer story) too bad storytime is during the day while I'm at work. stupid summer vacation! So seriously it was horrendously boring, but it was an absolutely beautiful day and they had silkworms, so really it was a win-win. Oh, and they started shearing the sheep at 1:00 and we watch almost the entire time and it was getting close to being almost close to almost being close to being done when the pioneer ladies kicked us out. Poor, long suffering Mabel.

Tilly in yellow and Ellie in pink. Ha. tricked you! Ellie in yellow and Tills in pink. The umbrella shot was their reaction to the sheep's "hair cut".

Abby's got a job if this library thing doesn't work out. They're up to 4 part time staff members so I bet the pay is pretty good. "They had asparagus!" was her reason for being so enthralled.

Here, 2 poor teenage children of a pioneer lady are forced to clean the wool. Ellie jumped right in and helped, but Tilly didn't want to touch the poop water for some reason, so she just played with Ellie's hair and told the 2 teenagers about how pretty her nails are. They weren't as impressed as you'd expect them to be by rainbow colored nails. Luckily for them Ellie was there to splash water all over their pioneer clothes. The girls really did love it.

In this one Ellie was concerned about splinters. Earlier in the day she pretended to wash all of our hands by rubbing them with a stick, I personally got 3 splinters from the "cleaning".

Rain Rain Go Away

Here are some Great pics from the recent rains we've had. Ellie is in the Yellow rain coat and Till in the cherries. At the Arboretum Tilly is in purple and Ellie in more of the pinkish jacket and yellow dress. At the Zoo with Andrew they are both wearing pink pants and a yellow shirt, so good luck. (Ellie is the one drawing and Tilly has the purple vest. )

Looking Cool

Say Hey Blogtrotters,
Here we are in February. The girls are doing great, except for fits of unstoppable coughing in the middle of the night that don't seem to bother them or make them grumpy the next morning. Also Ellie has been enjoying talking in a annoying baby voice lately and when you tell her to stop she just says "I'm not talking like a baby, I'm talking like a boy." Perhaps there is little difference between the two in her world. Other than those complaints, things are great.
pics: The first pic is of these awesome capes Abby made for the ladies, Tilly is a snow superhero and Ellie is an elephant superhero (I leave it to you to imagine what their powers might be, it was not made clear to me), El in the brown hat and Tilly in the vest and scarf (it was the only truly cold day this winter). T is sitting next to baby Andrew(friend and neighbor) and El is opposite them. El in yellow Pluto shirt and Till in the Cookie Monster one. Tilly is doing a snow angel on the floor by the way. I told you it has been a mild winter. Then in the last two we are "dressed fancy" and "acting cool" although I assure you both descriptions would send Marrium Webster to an early grave. The videos are of the girls discovering the greatness of mirrors.
