Official Scientcian Proves Identicality

Friday, August 29, 2008 Zuich, Switzerland

Great news today we finally got the results back and the girls are offcially considered “identical.” Three weeks ago DNA samples, HI-RES laser scans and Folic Lampon Tissue residue (FLT) were sent to the CERN facility in Switzerland, home to Europe’s largest superconductor, for testing. The data was analyzed by Dutch physicist Emrick Slepzenberg for signs of identicality. Although many of the first tests we’re rather inconclusive a breakthrough was finally made with the HI-RES laser scans. Dr. Slepzenberg announced that the Large Hadron Collider’s beam synchronization systems which will allow the LHC operations team to inject the first beam into the LHC. And the rest as they say is histroy.

The good doktor described these laser scans in laymen’s terms: “You know zat part in zee movie Terminator when ze esteemed actor Arnold Schwarzenegger looks at ze people and he zees them vith a grid of some sort? Zat is essentially vat vee do ven vee are looking at the HI-RES laser scans.”

Along with a certificate proving identicality the Tiggeman-Morrises received printouts of the three laser scans that the doctors used. The first two show the girls by themselves and the last one, I think the most conclusive proof yet, shows the beautiful girls together.

Home Again, Home Again, Lickety Split

Elinor Claire has arrived home at last! After exactly 3 weeks in the Baylor NICU she arrives triumphantly home ready to take her rightful place as Co-Cream-Fed-Ruler! Mmmmm...Let's see, not much else to report about her. She's around 5 and 1/2 pounds, we just don't know what we're going to do without daily updates as to her weight. I guess we're just going to have to guessinate how many grams she weighs each night. I'm guessing 2422 grams.

Little big sis Matilda Kate is doing fabulous and we're full of hope that she joins the household this weekend. ok. Here's some pictures.
PS -- That floral burrito is Elinor.

Nothing New, Just Pics

Happy, Happy Family!

Well the girls are still going. Elinor is up to 4 nonfeeding tube feedings a day, which is great. She sucked a bottle right down from me this morning. Matilda is still at 2 feedings a day. Each little lady must be able to take 8 feedings a day before they can be discharged. The nurses say it's a developemental thing and once they get the hang of it they make huge leaps. They are both now officially over their birth weight with Elly in at a whopping 4 lbs and 7 oz and Tillbert tipping the scales at 4 lbs 5 oz. Watch out women's wrestling federation we're comin!

The big news of the weekend is that Matilda is in an open crib and out of the incubator! That's great news for cuddling because now we can hold her anytime and aren't restricted by concern for her temperature.

The other big news is that there was an opening next to Elinor and so the nurses moved Matilda over so the girls are right next to each other. Mama Abby, Ma-Mabby to her friends and well-wishers, finally got to hold both girls at once. Visual conformation that they might be slighly identical.

Anyways, things are looking just fine and we'll just take a little more time.
